About Us

It started with “Vidensbutikken” (The Knowledge company) as a cooperative where authors, researchers, teachers aso. came togetherand where the main theme of discussions, research and publishing was children, children’s development, play and toys.
It was from “Vidensbutikken” (The Knowledge company) we started the publishing house: “The littlepublishing house”.

Along the way we found out that we had to split up the research dep. from publishing and the toy testing division, and “Excellent Play” was born.

This went on for many years until both research, testing, validating, lectures and consulting came together under one roof as “Scandinavian Toy Institute”, December 2017.

Our basis and foundation is many years of research. When we test all tests are evidence- based and we have tested and validaded product and learning materials since 2006.

If a product is STI approved it’s because we have detected and can document specific play and learning values in the product.
